Unique solutions for the Pacific
According to ADB, six of the sixteen island states covered by the Pacific Islands Forum (the Cook Islands, Fiji, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau and Tuvalu) have over half of their population living in urban areas. It is important to note that much of the infrastructure in these areas is old and in need of replacement.
The Government of Fiji is working to increase access for its population to reliable and adequate supplies of safe water. Sanitary and environmentally safe sewage and wastewater treatment facilities are a key component in delivering this safe water.
