Kubota Treatment Plant for Department of Defence

True Water were recently engaged for the construction and commissioning of a Sewage Treatment Plant for the Department of Defence in Northern NSW. ‘Camp Birt’ is a camp set up for Australian Army personnel undertaking a community construction project for approximately 9-12 months.

The Army Aboriginal Community Assistance Program (AACAP) is a cooperative endeavour between the Indigenous Affairs Office of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Australian Army. The project aims to improve health and living conditions to Indigenous communities and training to the Australia Army.

The tender process placed a high focus on value for money and reliability. True Water were successful in securing the Contract based on delivering a quality product that provides performance at a competitive price.

During the design phase, all environmental and operational constraints were considered including climate, soil and the remote location. Once design was complete and regulatory approvals received, mobilisation to site was scheduled to meet the tight deadline required by Defence.

The treatment plant recommended by True Water was a Kubota HCZ series sewage treatment plant with the ability to treat 20,000L/day to a high level. This Kubota HCZ uses biological processing as the method of treatment which is recognised internationally as the most efficient and reliable available.

True Water worked with Army personnel to install all infrastructure including grease arrestors, pump stations, pressure pipework and the treatment plant. The construction and commissioning of the Kubota sewage treatment plant and associated infrastructure were completed within 4 days and under budget.
