Roy Hill Airport

Roy Hill Airport is located 115kms north of the township Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The airport was built to transport the workers to the $9.5 billion iron ore project. Owned and operated by Hancock Prospecting, headed by Gina Rinehart, it is one of the largest mines in Australia consisting of its own processing plant, heavy rail network linking site to port, airport and permanent accommodation village.

True Water Australia was approached to supply a reliable onsite wastewater system capable of treating 6,000 litres of wastewater generated per day by the airport. Qantas Airway’s Network Aviation division fly to the site three times a week using its Fokker F100s, however, services are expected to expand as work at the project ramps up, with a predicted 3,600 employers need at the site.

A Fuji Clean 6kl system was dispatched by True Water Australia and installed by Chatoyer Water, with commissioning taking place a few days later. Fuji Clean systems achieve a high level of effluent treatment satisfying all regulatory requirements while guaranteeing a long-term cost-effective solution.

Chatoyer Water has since designed several other projects, with many of their onsite wastewater systems being sourced from True Water Australia.
